Tour Description
Day 1 - Golden Circle Tour
This is one of the most popular and most beautiful tours in Iceland and also one of the most beautiful ones. What we will visit?
- Thingvellir National Park
- Geysir
- Gullfoss Waterfall
- Kerid Volcanic Crater
- Efstidalur Organic Farm Restaurant
- If the weather permits, the Northern Lights can be seen on arrival night.
Thingvellir National Park
The first stop on our Premium Golden Circle Tour is Thingvellir National Park, known for being the site of the first parliament in the world. Thingvellir is also interesting because it sits in a rift valley where the European and the North American tectonic plates are separating.
Efstidalur Organic Farm
We then visit the Efstidalur Organic Farm, where you will have the chance to order some lunch or try a delicious locally made ice cream.
Geysir Geothermal Fields and Gullfoss Waterfall
Our Premium Golden Circle Tour continues to Geysir geothermal fields and Gullfoss waterfall, two of Iceland’s most popular and most beautiful attractions.
You have the time to walk around the Geysir geothermal area and admire the geyser erupt approximately every 8-10 minutes, as well as the opportunity to walk along the Hvita canyon where Gullfoss waterfall (the golden waterfall) is located.
The Secret Lagoon
We continue the tour to the Secret Lagoon, a natural hot spring where you have the option to relax at the end of the trip before we make our way back to Reykjavik.
Kerið Volcanic Crater Lake
One last stop is Kerið volcanic crater lake, you will see an incredible lake of unique color in the volcanic crater, where the famous Icelandic musician Björk once held a concert.
Bonus Aurora Hunt
An additional winter attraction of the trip: on the first night, we’ll have a chance to see the Northern Lights, weather permitting. A second opportunity to view the Northern Lights will occur on the return journey to Reykjavik. The price of the regular trip includes a bonus, free aurora hunt on the way back.
Day 2 - South Coast Tour
This is another very popular tour in Iceland, where you explore magnificent waterfalls and the famous Reynisfjara black sand beach as we drive along the south coast of Iceland, passing mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, and moss-covered lava fields. What we will visit?
- Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss waterfalls
- Eyjafjallajökull volcano
- Sólheimajökull glacier tongue
- Dyrhólaey Cliffs
- Reynisfjara
- Black Sand Beach
- Vík i Mýrdal
- If the weather permits, the Northern Lights can be seen on the way back to Reykjavik.
Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss Waterfalls
Skógafoss waterfall and Seljalandsfoss waterfall are two of Iceland’s most famous and visited waterfalls. You can walk behind Seljalandsfoss to take some really spectacular pictures. (Make sure you are wearing waterproof clothes because you will get wet!)
Mount Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull
As we continue our drive along Iceland’s south coast, we pass Mt. Hekla, one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes, that is expected to erupt very soon. In the Middle Ages, this volcano was known as the “Gateway to Hell”!
We also drive past Eyjafjallajökull, the glacier-topped volcano that erupted in 2010, freezing air traffic over Europe for a couple of weeks and making Iceland famous all over the world.
Sólheimajökull Glacier
Sólheimajökull, a glacier tongue situated not far from the Ring Road and accessible by a short walk on a paved walking route, is a great place to get a firsthand look at Icelandic glaciers. Sólheimajökull’s shapes and textures will captivate you, and the black lines in the ice reveal layers of volcanic ash. You will have the chance to see this magnificent glacier up close.
Dyrhólaey, Reynisfjara, and Vík í Mýrdal
Other stops include the cliffs of Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach with its basalt columns and caves. We also make a stop in Vík í Mýrdal, a charming sea-front fishing village made famous for its black beaches and sea stacks.
