There is an hour-long guided tour at the tunnel with a local guide who will tell you all about the various lava formations, how lava caves are formed, and the numerous sorts of minerals that can be discovered there. The colors and rock forms of the lava cave will awe you, and you’ll get to feel the unusual stillness of the cave.

Explore Reykjanes Geopark

Next, we visit Reykjanesviti, one of Iceland’s oldest lighthouses, which sits atop stunning cliffs not far from the Gunnuhver geothermal area, where the legend of a haunting ghost lady has been passed down for generations. After that, we travel to the Bridge Between Two Continents, where you can walk over the fissure between the North American and the European tectonic plates which are drifting apart.

Discover Viking World Museum

A visit to Viking World, a fascinating museum about the Vikings in Iceland and the North Atlantic, is also included in our Private Luxury Reykjanes Jeep Tour.
