The Silver Circle starts with a drive into the 30-kilometer-long and beautiful fjord Hvalfjörður, or if translated, “Whale Fjord.” This fjord offers stunning views of Icelandic rustic nature, special sights, and waterfalls not commonly seen by tourists.
Discover the History of Whale Fjord
Historically, Hvalfjörður was home to a main whaling station in Iceland and played a crucial role during World War II as a major naval station for the Allies. The fjord houses an old whaling station and a war museum.
Explore the Intellectual Heritage of Reykholt
Our journey continues to Reykholt, an intellectual center in Iceland during the Middle Ages and the home of the famous poet and politician Snorri Sturluson. Visit the remains of his farm, including the renowned Snorri’s Pot and its connecting tunnel.
Marvel at Hraunfossar and Barnafoss Waterfalls
Next, we visit the wide and gentle Hraunfossar, a unique waterfall flowing from solidified lava. Nearby is Barnafoss, the “Child’s Waterfall,” with its intriguing legend and natural beauty.

- The weather in Iceland can be quite unpredictable. Occasionally, the tour itinerary might be altered if weather and road conditions are unfavorable.
- For groups of 1-4 people, we typically travel by jeep. If you prefer a van, please send a request.
